Javed Miandad foresees the advantages of playing against India ? Cricket News Update

Former batsman, Javed Miandad has lauded the decision by the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) to resume cricketing ties with Pakistan that were suspended back in 2008 after the Mumbai terrorist attacks.

Miandad while speaking to media on the matter insisted that playing against India will benefit Pakistan in the coming years.

?The benefits of playing India on regular basis will be felt soon. As it is no international team is touring Pakistan because of security issues and that has caused Pakistan cricket great harm," he said.

"Pakistan and India matches are very important for the sport on a whole because whenever these two teams play against each other people remain at home to watch the matches and the impact is felt worldwide," he added.

He also rubbished the speculations regarding Pakistan Cricket Board?s (PCB) desire to ask India for the sharing revenues from the upcoming series between the two countries.

Explaining his point of view on the matter, the former skipper said, ?I don't think money matters now... what is important is we resume playing against each other."

Praising the current Chairman PCB, Zaka Ashraf for his insurmountable efforts in normalizing the relations between the two countries.

Pakistan has failed to host a foreign team since the 2009 terrorist attacks on the touring team of Sri Lanka, after which Pakistan has faced extreme difficulty in convincing other teams to play at home.

However, with the country improving the law and order situation, PCB officials see the situation moving towards betterment, where the national team would soon be hosting other nations.

Nonetheless, for the time being resuming cricketing ties with India is plus of Zaka and his team, the former PCB boss Ijaz Butt miserably failed in this department.

The BCCI has also sent Pakistan an invitation for the upcoming Champions League in South Africa, and there is also a strong possibility of Pakistani players featuring in the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Expects believe a stint in the IPL would help Pakistan players in improving their T20I level. ?
